What impressed me first is how Looker let us model our metrics once (using LookML) and then let everyone... use those same canonical definitions. The consistency cut down 'which report has the right number?' arguments.

tics engineers to manage LookML.
Providing a single, trusted source of truth for all business metrics through its powerful, centralized LookML semantic modeling layer, which drives real-time, governed, and self-service analytics for technical and non-technical users alike.
Steep learning curve, especially for LookML and initial setup Can be slow/laggy with very large datasets or complex queries (requires careful optimization and a performant data warehouse like BigQuery) Limited visualization options compared to some competitors Higher total cost of ownership (TCO) due to licensing, BigQuery, and LookML development/maintenance costs Less intuitive for non-technical users initially (compared to drag-and-drop tools)
